First ODI, South Africa gives the target of 274-run to Pakistan Exclusive

(mnm.com.pk) In the first ODI, South Africa gave Pakistan a target of 274 runs to win.

 In the first ODI between Pakistan and South Africa at Centurion, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first.


South Africa's Eden Markram and Quentin de Kock started the innings, but Shaheen Shah Afridi soon sent both players to the pavilion. Eden Markrum (19) and De Cock (20) were out.


South Africa captains Tamba Buma and Henrik Klaassen were the only guests for one run. David Miller and Rossi Wonder Dawson solidified the team's scoreboard with an excellent partnership of 116 runs for the fifth wicket.


David Miller fell victim to Harris Rauf after scoring a half-century, but Russian vendor Dawson played a responsible innings to score the first century of his ODI career and remained unbeaten on 123 runs.


In the last overs, Andel Fluffio played a 29-run innings with the full support of Rossi vendor Dawson, while Dawson remained unbeaten on 105.


For the national team, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf took 2 wickets each, Mohammad Hasnain and Fahim Ashraf took one wicket each.


Danish Aziz stepped up for Pakistan. National team captain Babar Azam said he decided to bowl first because of the moisture in the wicket.






In the last five ODIs played between the two teams, Pakistan won two and South Africa three.


The second ODI of the series will be played on April 4 and the third on April 7. The Pakistan cricket team will also play a three-match T20 series against South Africa.
