Islamabad (mnm.com.pk): Prime Minister Imran Khan convened a meeting of the National Command and Operations Services (NCOC) yesterday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to convene an NCOC meeting after meeting Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar and Special Assistant for Health Dr. Faisal Sultan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed by Asad Umar and Dr. Faisal Sultan on the overall situation and measures taken by the country regarding coronavirus.
The federal government has proposed tightening sanctions in two phases.
During the first phase, the federal government proposed a lockdown to prevent the spread of Corona.
In the second phase, 7 to 10 days of lockdown is recommended in high-risk cities, with more than 13% of positive patients having a complete lockdown.
Earlier, Dr. Faisal Sultan had warned SAMAA's Nadeem Malik Live that the situation in Karuna was not improving across the country and that major cities would have to close if sanctions were not implemented.
It may be recalled that an important meeting of the National Command and Control Center will be held tomorrow under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in which new sanctions are expected to be announced.
Federal Minister for Planning Asad Omar has said that the nation is not following the Karuna SOPs and the administration is not taking any action. This puts pressure on hospitals.
In the last 24 hours, 98 people have died from the coronavirus. Of these, 28 patients died on ventilators alone.
According to the NCOC, 5,857 new corona cases were reported in 24 hours and the rate of positive cases in the country reached 10.16%.
The total number of deaths from corona in the country has exceeded 16,600.
