On Thursday, April 1, a meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the Prime Minister attended the meeting through a video link.

Yesterday, a meeting of the Economic Co-ordination Committee chaired by the new Finance Minister Hamad Azhar approved the import of cotton and sugar from India.

The meeting also touched on the third wave of Coronavirus, with the Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet expressing concern over the growing number of Corona cases.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to ensure implementation of SOPs in all matters and said that a nationwide campaign should be launched regarding masks.

The Prime Minister said that our smart lockdown policy was successful but the country could not afford a complete lockdown.

Members congratulated Hamad Azhar on receiving the additional charge of Finance Minister. The cabinet members said that they hoped that Hamad Azhar would run the country's economy in every possible way.

It may be recalled that Finance Minister Hamad Azhar had also announced a reduction in petrol and diesel prices yesterday.
