Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Hamad Azhar briefed him on the decisions of the first ECC meeting chaired by him. He said that petrol and diesel prices have been reduced in consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan. The decline was likely due to the possibility of rising prices of petroleum products in the international market. The recent reduction in petroleum products will take effect from 12 noon tonight.

At present, petrol is levied at Rs 11.23 per liter and diesel at Rs 12.74 per liter. OGRA had proposed a reduction of Rs 1.5 per liter in petrol and Rs 2.7 per liter in diesel.

It should be noted that the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan are changed on the 1st and 16th of every month.
